Purolator has announced that it will be doubling its fleet of hybrid vehicles in Canada with the arrival of 201 additional models to be distributed across the country.

Of the 201, 43 will be going to Halifax and Dartmouth, 60 to Guelph, 19 to Niagara and the remaining 79 will serve the Greater Toronto Area. Note that in Nova Scotia, Purolator’s green initiative has been partially supported by the ecoNova Scotia Fund for Clean Air and Climate Change, which helps companies to complete projects reducing air emissions.

Purolator is going ahead with its plan to replace its conventional delivery trucks with hybrids. Launched in 2005, the initiative has enabled the delivery company to reduce its emissions by 2,100 tons of greenhouse gasses and its fuel consumption by 645,000 litres of oil.
