Robert Wickens takes victory in the weekend's first race presented in Barcelona, and moves closer to the title as the Canadian driver has now a nine-point advantage on team-mate Jean-Eric Vergne before the last round of the season.

Wickens began his day perfectly, clinching the pole position for race 1, while title rival Jean-Eric Vergne had a tough qualifying session, and was down to 9th place on the grid. The session was interrupted after Adrien Tambay’s big crash. The young Frenchman was taken to hospital for control.

In race, Wickens continued his domination and took a light to flag win in race 1. But Vergne was able to move up to second at the finish, just ahead of Daniil Move. Wickens and Vergne are now separated by nine points before the final round of the season that will be ran on Sunday.
