Former double world champion Fernando Alonso has thrown his weight behind Felipe Massa's title campaign.
The Spaniard, who last year spent a difficult year at McLaren, told his local press at the weekend: "I would prefer if Massa wins, because if he does not, Hamilton will."
27-year-old Alonso's comments were met with laughter and applause from a packed press conference in Spain.
He continued: "The truth is that it is very difficult to predict, because they are virtually tied. If I had to bet money I would put it on Lewis, because throughout the year he was the most consistent."
