A solution has reportedly been found so that Hockenheim will stage the German grand prix next year.

According to Germany's Auto Motor und Sport, Bernie Ecclestone has worked with the race organisers after they were no longer willing to absorb multi million euro losses.

Official confirmation of the solution, finalised in meetings on Thursday, is set for September.

"We are very, very close. It looks good," said the F1 chief executive.
