Less than one week after having announced February 17 that Vitaly Petrov would replace veteran Jarno Trulli, the Caterham F1 Team revealed Monday the (logical) arrival of a Russian sponsor.
Tony Fernandes' team announced that it has signed a deal with SIBUR to be an official Team Partner.
SIBUR, the largest petrochemical company in Russia and Eastern Europe, has also confirmed that it is continuing the partnership agreement it began in 2011 with Vitaly Petrov in his new role.
The SIBUR logo will feature on the CT01 cars and on Petrov’s race suits throughout the 2012 season.
SIBUR, one of Petrov's personal sponsors at Lotus Renault GP last year was in a news.
On February 6, Petrov's manager Oksana Kosachenko told Ria Novosti news agency that an indecisive sponsor was delaying the negotiations with the F1 teams. "Of course, he (Petrov) is not very comfortable because we expected them (the sponsor – SIBUR?) to move a little bit faster," she said.
