British driver Lewis Hamilton planted his McLaren-Mercedes Benz on pole position for Sunday’s Grand Prix of Europe held in the streets of Valencia, Spain.
It will be the first McLaren 1-2 sweep in qualification this year as his teammate Heikki Kovalainen will start the race alongside the rengning World Champion.
They will be followed by Rubens Barrichello in the best placed Brawn-Mercedes and Sebastian Vettel in the Red-Bull Renault.
Championship leader Jenson Button will start from 5th place in the second Brawn GP car.
