The Federation Internationale de l'Automobile Thursday published the 2013 technical and sporting regulations of the Formula 1 World Championhip.

Next season will mark the last of the current normally aspirated V8 engines in F1 before the introducion in 2014 of the 1.6 litre turbo KERS engines.

In 2013, the teams will be allowed to fit a special pannel to hide the highly controvesial stepped noses.

An optional, single piece, non-structural fairing of prescribed laminate will be permitted to hide the nose, therefore avoiding the need of a complete chassis redesign.

The shape of the pannel will be closely detailed to ensure that it is not used as an aerodynamic device.

The new set of technical regulations also include an article that will outlaw the type of double DRS that Mercedes AMG used since the start of the season.

Article 3.18 states that the moveable rear wing: "cannot be used to change the geometry of any duct, either directly or indirectly, other than the change to the distance between adjacent sections permitted by Article 3.10.2."
