Schumacher's teammate Nico Rosberg finished the day in second place ahead of Sebastian Vettel in the Red Bull, Pérez, Romain Grosjean in the Lotus, Nico Hulkenberg in the Force India and Daniel Ricciardo in the Toro Rosso. Unfortenately, Ricciardo had an off at the Sachs corner and damaged his STR7.
Schumacher also had an accident. He crashed his Mercedes W03 at the entrance of the stadium. “I simply slid off track because I lost a little concentration: we were talking on the radio and I was altering some settings at the same time. But that's all part of the game,”said Schumacher.
Rosberg will take a five-place grid penalty on Sunday following a precautionary gearbox change after the last race.
