German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz launched on Monday its first 100% Mercedes Formula 1 car since 1955 in the pit lane of the Valencia circuit in Spain.
Mercedes had unveiled the colour design of the car in Stuttgart last week, but it waited until shortly before track action began on Monday to show the car that will carry the title hopes of Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg.
The W01 sports a radical version of the flat nose introduced by Red Bull Racing last year.
The engine cover features a small fin, much smaller than those of the McLaren, Renault and Sauber cars.
Shortly after the ceremony, Nico Rosberg took the Mercedes W01 to the track and began testing the latest creation of Ross Brawn and his team.
