Team McLaren-Mercedes posted the fastest times in both free practice sessions of the Grand Prix of Turkey at the Istanbul Park Autodrom.
Lewis Hamilton was the fastest this morning while his teammate Jenson Button clinched P1 in the afternoon, despite finding his MP4-25A pretty nervous over the bumps in Turn 8.
Mark Webber, the winner of the Monaco Grand Prix, was 8th in the morning and was running 2nd in the afternoon when his Red Bull RB6 suffered what is suspected to be a failed engine failure.
Mercedes teammates Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher were closely matched in both sessions.
The Force Indias were fitted with the F-duct. Unfortunately, Adrian Sutil damaged his car when he left the road in Turn 8.
Ferrari’s Felipe Massa could not managed to complete a full laps on the soft tires. The Brazilian spun in the infamous Turn 8 and that ruined his lap.
Sakon Yamamoto took over Bruno Senna this morning at Hispania Racing team. The Brazilian took his car back in the afternoon. Once again, the Cosworth-powered cars are amongst the slowest.
