Mercedes Grand Prix reportedly offered Michael Schumacher any role he wants in the team for 2010.

"The German car giant is so desperate to persuade the nation's most famous racer to join their new Formula 1 campaign as a manufacturer, they have told him he can have any job in the team even if he does not want to race," the Daily Mirror claims.

"Mercedes are not only prepared to put him in the seat vacated by Jenson Button's move to McLaren, but are open to discussion on a variety of other roles whether in the cockpit, management or as a roving ambassador and advisor."

The team would like the German driver to come back from retirement and drive alongside Nico Rosberg to form an all-German team.

A neck injury prevented the driver to come back in GP this season, but the seven-time champion would be eager to make a comeback.

Director Ross Brawn and Schumacher have many years of success behind them as they won seven titles together.

Should Schumacher forfeit driving, Kimi Raikkonen, Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica would be on the list to replace him.

Until then, it seems like Schumi gets to chose.
