The HRT Formula 1 team have announced on Monday that Narain Karthikeyan will compete in his inaugural home race, the 2011 Formula 1 Airtel Grand Prix of India, next month.
It will be Karthikeyan’s first race drive for the team since standing aside for Australian Daniel Ricciardo following June’s European round.
In preparation for his return, Karthikeyan will also be back in the cockpit during Friday’s first practice session at next weekend’s 2011 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
India’s first Grand Prix takes place at the all-new Buddh International Circuit near New Delhi on October 28-30.
