Lotus Renault driver Nick Heidfeld was not happy at all when he was told earlier this week by the team management that his car would be driven by reserve driver Bruno Senna at the Belgian and Italian Grands Prix.
Heidfeld's manager Andre Theuerzeit in a statement late Thursday said Heidfeld, 34, was taking legal action to get back in the driver's seat.
Theuerzeit intends to bring his legal fight to force the team to honour the driver's contract before the London High Court next month, and he hopes the German driver will be back behind the wheel at Renault in time to race in Singapore.
"I am disappointed that the team is allowed to let another driver take Nick's seat for the next weekends," Theuerzeit said.
"However, I certainly am confident that we will be able to enforce a fair solution for Nick in the further proceedings.
"We all hope that Nick will be back in the cockpit in Singapore,” Theuerzeit added.
"I still have a clear contract and I want to drive,” said Heidfeld.
