The only thing now missing from Fernando Alonso's move to Ferrari for the 2010 season is a press release.
As the speculation steadily becomes fact, Renault's new managing director Jean-Francois Caubet on Sunday all but confirmed that the 27-year-old Spaniard is now set to depart the French team.
"We will miss him but he will miss us," he told French television TF1 in Singapore.
The ever-galvanising rumours are frustrating for the specialist media corps, so much so that one reporter jokingly offered Alonso a pink ten euro note if he will simply drop the name of his 2010 employer.
"Not enough," he smiled. "At least 20."
