Pirelli has confirmed the choice of the PZero Silver 'hard' tire as the prime tire for next weekend's British Grand Prix with, as always, the PZero Yellow 'soft' tire as a second choice.

Five of the eight first races of this 2011 season have been subject to thisĀ  compound combination. This should reassure drivers who are starting to get used to it.

It is to be said that Silverstone, the second longest track of the season after Spa-Francorchamps, has experienced some alterations. It was notably re-surfaced. This should represent a challenge for the teams.

Also an important factor to keep in mind on Friday will be the two extra sets of PZero White 'intermediate' tires that the drivers will be allowed to try on as only one Grand Prix, in Valencia, was ran on this compound so far.

The British Grand Prix is particularly special as eight of the 12 teams are based in Great-Britain. Pirelli's F1 logistics and distribution centre is located only thirty minutes from the track, in Didcot.
