According to Max Mosley, Red Bull may have broken the resources limits agreement in 2010.
Mosley has reveiled that Red Bull, during the last FOTA meeting, asked for an exception to be made to the Resource Restriction Agreement rules.
The former FIA president has come to the conclusion that the new Champion Team has therefore broken the rule since it felt necessary to ask for an exception to be made.
"At the last FOTA meeting, Red Bull asked for an exception," Mosley told Germany's Auto Motor und Sport, "If that's true, that can only mean they spent more than they were allowed. Now they're asking for the [other] teams' okay [to have done so].”
This request, for Mosley, is only another sign of how important a budget cap is in Formula 1.
If it is true the Red Bull Team did indeed brake the rule, it is yet to be known which sanctions could be imposed on them.
The team has admitted on developping the RB6 right through the last race of the season, also hinting at possible excess in costs.
