Renault is eyeing a third place in the 2011 World Championship with its 'very brave' design for the R31.

Chief operating officer Patrick Louis said the ambition of the team is for a top three finish. Meantime technical director James Allison hinted at an aggressive design for the new car.

In addition, team principal Eric Boullier will be expecting the team to win some races this year with new partner Lotus.

"We know now we will be much more competitive than last year. We don't know yet obviously what the other teams, and the other forces, will be in F1 - but we already know we will be much stronger," added Boullier.
