The test programme held on the track near Milan focused on aerodynamic measurements of the Virgin car. These tests usually require the driver to hold a steady speed on a straight line while sensors located at various places on the car measure the air flow. These tests are designed to compare the data obtained in the wind tunnel to the real life numbers.
The Canadian completed 210km in the MVR-02.
Wickens was named the team's reserve driver a few days prior to the Grand Prix of Canada in Montreal.
