Kamui Kobayashi was at the wheel of the Sauber C30-Ferrari, and he set the fourth fastest time. The Swiss team lost some track time due to a powertrain problem, which cost time. In the afternoon, the team did another fuel system check test by running out on the track, and then worked on three tire compounds, hard, the medium and the soft.
Jenson Button was fifth in the McLaren MP4-26. The British team wanted to do aero-mapping runs in the morning, but rain disrupted the programme. The team then started to do series of shorter runs. It also satisfactorily ran the drag reduction system for the first time in anger, and continued work with the KERS.
Testing resumes tomorrow.
