Lewis Hamilton set the fourth fastest time in the McLaren MP4-26. Hamilton’s programme largely mirrored Button’s day yesterday. He spent the morning running pit stop rehearsals with a full-race crew, which was cut short by a minor hydraulics leak.
The morning’s planned race simulation was also halted due to an exhaust failure just before lunch. For the afternoon, Hamilton and the engineers ran through a number of set-up evaluations, conducted over shorter runs.
Felipe Massa was at the wheel of the 150° Italia and clinched the fifth time. The Scuderia Ferrari tackled a very full programme today, centred on evaluating updates, which have been fitted to the car.
Paul di Resta (Force India), Kamui Kobayashi (Sauber) , Nico Rosberg (Mercedes GP) and Jarno Trulli (Team Lotus) followed in order.
