Sebastian Vettel, driver of the small Italian Toro Rosso outfit, set today - for a second day in succession - the fastest time of the private Formula 1 test session held in Jerez, Spain.

Driving the Ferrari-powered Toro Rosso STR3 fitted with Bridgestone slick tires, Vettel was today the only driver to lap the Jerez circuit below the 1'19 mark. The other competitors mostly tested grooved tires.

Team McLaren's Pedro de la Rosa was second quickest, while Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari) was third in the F2008.

The engine in Alex Wurz's Honda blew up, causing the only red flag of the day.
