According to Formula 1.com
Red Bull team mate Mark Webber will line up beside him, even if he couldn't worry the German. Webber's best lap was almost a half-second shy of Vettel's.
Jenson Button (3rd) keeps on having the upper hand over McLaren team mate Lewis Hamilton (4th). But the gap between the two was only 0.005s. Unlike the two brits, Ferrari's Fernando Alonso (5th) and Felipe Massa (6th) were further apart, the Spaniard almost a second quicker over Massa.
No surprises at Mercedes. The silver arrows filled up the 4th row. Nico Rosberg was the last driver to set a time, he therefore took 7th spot on the grid.
"Starting in seventh place was the maximum that we could have achieved", the German said. "Although Massa was very close so it was definitely worth trying to catch him. Being on the clean side at the grid gives me a good position for the start, so I will try to make up positions there."
Michael Schumacher (8th) and Force India drivers Adrian Sutil (9th) and Paul di Resta (10th) didn't set times. Saving their tires for Sunday's race was more important to them.
"In theory, this should be worth sometime over the race distance", commented Schumacher. "So it was a calculated risk worth taking. As we all know from the past, a lot of incidents can happen during the Singapore Grand Prix."
Earlier in the session, Q2 was interrupted by Kamui Kobayashi's (17th) flight across the track. He took-off after going over the kerb in turn 10 and landed a few feet further.
His Sauber team mate, Sergio Perez (11th), had a better run.
"The circuit is very technical and a driver can easily make a mistake", he said. "With a good performance [I can] make a difference. I strongly believe I will finish in the points tomorrow."
Behind him are the two Williams' – Rubens Barrichello 11th, and Pastor Maldonado 12th –, and the two Toro Rosso – Sébastien Buemi 14th, and Jaime Alguersuari 16th.
Renault's tough weekend continued. After abandoning bodywork upgrades because of cooling problems, they had to settle for 15th and 18th on the grid. Bruno Senna's good run continues however, he lines up ahead of his team mate Vitaly Petrov.
Business as usual for the back markers. Heikki Kovalainen (19th) beats his Lotus-Renault team mate Jarno Trulli (20th). At Virgin, Timo Glock qualifies 21st ahead of Belgian Jérome d'Ambrosio, 22nd.
Once again, Daniel Ricciardo (HRT) did well to finish 23rd, in front of Vitantonio Liuzzi (HRT), 24th. However Liuzzi would have been last anyway because of the five-place grid penalty he received following the turn 1 incident at Monza.
