A date has been set for Sir Richard Branson's day as a skirt-wearing AirAsia stewardess, after losing a bet with Fernandes this year.

Fernandes and Branson had taken a bet at the beginning of the season that the owner of the best new team would be hosted by his rival in a flight of his company - AirAsia for Fernandes, Virgin for Branson - comes the end of the season.

Branson therefore left Abu Dhabi with an AirAsia stewardess uniform in his luggage since it was Lotus who ultimately did better than Virgin in 2010.

The details of the flight were still to be confirmed and it has now been done. Branson will have to "serve and clean" as any stewardess would do during this long flight.

"It's confirmed February 21, 2011," Fernandes wrote on Twitter, revealing the flight will travel from London to Kuala Lumpur.

Branson, smiling, had declared after Abu Dhabi's race: "The only positive thing is we own 20 per cent of his company so I'll be able to get some promotion for a company I have a stake in!"
