Japanese Formula 1 driver Takuma Sato will test again with the Scuderia Toro Rosso team at Jerez, Spain next week.

It will be the Japanese veteran's third outing with the Ferrari-powered team, indicating he is still firmly in the running to return to the formula one grid next year.

A statement released by the 31-year-old's management said Sato is to drive on December 10 and 11 at the southern Spanish circuit.

Sébastien Bourdais is also scheduled to run for two days at Jerez. Swiss youngster Sébastien Buemi will test on all three days of the test.

Sato's former teammate at Super Aguri F1 team, Anthony Davidson looks set to turn to the world of prototype sportscars for 2009.

Davidson has turned to the world of sportscars, and recently tested a prototype Peugeot.

The French marque's team manager Serge Saulnier said Davidson is in consideration for a 2009 seat.
