Toyota Motorsport president, John Howett confirms Kamui Kobayashi is an option, as well as Jarno Trulli could stay, while Kimi Raikkonen also received a formal offer from Toyota.

Jarno Trulli's hopes of retaining his seat at Toyota beyond 2009 seem to have grown even more, despite earlier expectations that the Italian veteran is set to leave. The italian driver told reporters at Interlagos that team principal Tadashi Yamashina has asked him to sit tight until the outcome of a Toyota board meeting in mid November.

About Jarno Trulli, John Howett says: "We have put an offer on the table with Jarno, I think that he himself is not dissatisfied with the financial offer, the bottom line to some extent is certain issues on the contract and I don't think they are negotiable from our side. He may well be in the car next year but it's not at all clear."

About Kimi Raikkonen, leaving Ferrari, John Howett revealed that Toyota has made an offer for the 2010 season to Kimi Raikkonen's management, but according to the Reuters news agency, he said "a degree of discussion" is ongoing with both Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock.

Kamui Kobayashi is a possibility for a race seat at Toyota next season. It is rumoured Kobayashi's appearances towards the end of the 2009 season might have some connection with a meeting of Toyota's executive board in Tokyo, when on November 15 the struggling car-making giant will consider the team's budget for 2010.

Kamui Kobayashi was praised by some for a high-profile race last Sunday, but there was also some criticism, including by Jenson Button who said the "absolutely crazy" Japanese had been weaving in the braking zones.

John Howett told Reuters: "You have to say we have to give him serious consideration but still pace-wise he was a bit slow so we have to see."
