Silly Season is now running in high gear. This time, there are rumours about Valtteri Bottas taking the place of Bruno Senna at Williams F1 Team.

In Spain this past weekend, Williams other driver Pastor Maldonado qualified his FW34 on the front row while Bruno Senna spun in qualifying and failed to make it to Q2.

Talking to Finnish broadcaster MTV3, former F1 driver Mika Salo said his countryman Valtteri Bottas , whose career is managed by Christian “Toto” Wolff, a shareholder of Williams, should replace Senna.

"Bottas is highly respected by the team. Frank Williams praises highly Valtteri and says he should be contesing races I asked him when and he [Frank] said he would not say,"said Salo, who added that Bottas' main problem is the high amount of money Senna is bringing several millions do dollars to the team through his partners Embratel, Gillette, Head and Shoulders, MRV and OGX.

During the first free practice session in Spain, Bottas drove Senna's car to fifth place overall with a time of 1m25.120. During the same session, Maldonado only did a 1m26.296, 1.176s slower.

Bottas denied the rumour, but will be back in Senna's car several more times this season during Friday's free practice sessions.
