Vitantonio Liuzzi is expecting a decision from HRT in the next few days following his first tests in Barcelona yesterday.
"In the next few days, we'll see what will happen. I'm still finalising my situation, but there is a chance to be there for the future," Liuzzi told Autosport.
The Italian driver is a contender for the second seat of the team alongside Indian Narain Karthikeyan.
"HRT needed someone to test the car who could drive the development and engineering side.
"They were really happy to have me in the car for a day and we agreed to do this day of testing to get to know each other and see if there is any way for the future.," he added.
The former Force India driver is also, reportedly, looking into a thrid driver role with other teams.
"I want to stay in F1 because I don't think that I have had the chance to shine. F1 is where I want to be," he concluded.
