Williams on Wednesday confirmed it will part company with its current engine supplier Toyota at the end of 2009.

Team principal Sir Frank Williams thanked the Japanese company for stepping forward with a three-year supply "at a time of great difficulty for us" in 2007.

"Toyota has been a very decent partner who have always respected our independence and provided us with a first-rate technical product," he said.

Also in the media statement, the Grove based team said it will confirm its new supplier for 2010 "in due course".

Brazilian media reports this week said the outfit will be powered by Cosworth engines, but a deal with Renault has also been speculated.
