Dean Stoneman and Philipp Eng are the winners of both Formula 2 rounds presented this week-end at Brands Hatch. Championship rivals Stoneman and Jolyon Palmer collided in race 2.

After he set pole position, Dean Stoneman took an easy win in race 1, after he led from start to finish. At that point, Stoneman get closer to championship leader Jolyon Palmer, who get only 8th position at the finish. Jack Clarke and Ivan Samarin took 2nd and 3rd.

In the second round, Kazim Vaziliauskas started from pole. The driver from Lituania pulled away in front, but was then forced to retire with gear box problems. Philipp Eng inherits the lead, and took the win ahead of Tom Gladdis and Dean Stoneman.

But Stoneman was penalized by marshalls after a race incident with championship rival Jolyon Palmer. Stoneman, who started from 7th place, made a great catch up in the early laps. He was right at the back of Palmer’s car when he tried a move in the inside for third. But both cars collide and Palmer was pushed into the gravels and forced to retire.

Stoneman was able to continue and took 3rd position. But he was then penalized by the marshall with a 20 seconds penalty, which droped him from 3rd to 12th. Will Bratt inherited 3rd place.

Stoneman, who briefly moved up to first position in provisional classification, was back to second after his penalty.
