Alfa Romeo to also Bring Rare Classic Models to Concours Event
Being the featured brand at the Concours d'Elegance is likened to being invited to a fairytale world filled with beautiful, fully restored (or original

condition) rarities. Many classic Alfa Romeos will be attending, including the sole surviving 1921 'G1', Alfa's first road car. Other cars, including the winged, space-age Bertone-designed BAT5, BAT7d and BAT9 concepts will be displayed as well. Countless other privately owned Alfas will also be scattered amongst countless automotive antiques.

But, the first unveiling of the 8C Competizione Spider on American soil should bode well for the brand. While Alfa has been absent from North America since it retreated in the mid '90s, it has long planned to return. It's expected that sometime during the 2007

calendar year, Alfa Romeo will establish a dealer network with Ferrari-Maserati, launching the 157 Sports Sedan, the Brera sports coupe and a new Spider. By introducing the 8C Spider, a super-performance machine, it will give North American attendees a preview of Alfa's bold new styling and sporty personality.

After the event in California, the car will make its way to Frankfurt, where it will be shown at this year's IAA, exactly two years after the original 8C Competitzione coupe made its debut at the Frankfurt show in 2003. While we might not ever see production variants of the 8C Competizione or 8C Spider, Alfa Romeo is planning a convertible version of its two-door sports coupe, the Brera. Currently undergoing final testing, it is expected that the Brera Spider will debut at the 2006 Geneva motor show next March.
