Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen set today the fastest times of the first day of testing in Valencia, Spain. The Ferrari drivers were behind the wheel of the new F2008s.

Nico Rosberg made a solid impression, driving the new Toyota-powered FW30 to third place overall ahead of McLaren latest recruit, Finland's Heikki Kovalainen.

Rosberg set a time of 1'12.838, almost a full second quicker than the fastest Toyota (12th place), driven by Jarno Trulli. Both cars share the same engine and the same transmission.

Fernando Alonso was a lowly 6th in the new Renault R28.

The BMW Sauber F1.08s were fitted with an innovative nose that sported two winglets that should general additional downforce to the front axle.

Austrian veteran Alex Wurz had his first outing in the Honda.

Testing continues tomorrow.
