The eighth round of the FIA GT Championship, at the French circuit of Nogaro, saw the No 2 Vitaphone Maserati of Miguel Ramos and Alexandre Negrao claim their first win of the season, finishing ahead of the two Phoenix Carsport Corvettes to close up the Championship points with just two rounds remaining.

Vitaphone's Bartels and Bertolini, who finished sixth after a puncture late in the race, still lead, but Hezemans and Gollin are now just six points behind, with Ramos and Negrao a further half-point adrift.

In GT2, Richard Westbrook and Alex Davison claimed the victory for Prospeed Competition in the No 61 Porsche 997 GT3 RSR, after a close fight, ahead of the No 55 CR Scuderia Ferrari of Mullen and Piccini.

The No 51 AF Corse Ferrari of Biagi and Montanari crossed the line third but was given a drive-through penalty, converted into a 30 second time penalty, which dropped them to fifth. This meant that Gianmaria Bruni and Toni Vilander, in the No 50 AF Corse Ferrari, inherited third - but they also claimed the biggest prize, securing the 2008 GT2 Drivers Championship with two races remaining.
