Aspiring race car driver Nicholas Latifi finished twice on the podium, this week as the Florida Winter Series visited Miami-Homestead for round 3 of the mini series.

The Toronto native opened the meeting with a strong performance on Thursday, setting the fastest lap on his way to fourth place in race 1. He then recorded two podiums: a win in race 2 and a second place in race 3.

"Great day at the track! P1 in race 2 from 8th on the grid and started and finished P2 in race 3! Nice to have a problem free race event," Latifi wrote on his Facebook page after the event.

His countryman Lance Stroll completed the 1-2 for Canada, as he finished race 2 directly behind him.

Italian Antonio Fuoco won race 1 and 3.

The Florida Winter Series will stay in Miami-Homestead, as it is set to race there again next week also, for the fourth and final round of the championship.
