Nationwide (ex-Busch) drivers took on the Daytona International Speedway yesterday and today for pre-season testing.

Monday morning individual testing showed young Cale Gale being the fastest behind the wheel of Kevin Harvick's No 77 Chevrolet at a top speed of 180.679 mph. Chase Miller, a GEM driver, drove the No 9A Dodge Charger at the second fastest speed at 180.491 mph.

The only Canadian on the track, Ontario's D.J. Kennington gave it a try and ran the 23rd fastest speed with the No 72A Chevy at 177.068 mph.

In the afternoon, though, as the drivers were testing in-group for drafting, Erik Darnell, a Fenway-Roush Ford driver (No 17A) was the fastest at 184.744 mph. Kennington did better with the 15th fastest speed at 181.620, this time with his No 72 Dodge.

The day before, on Sunday morning as the drivers were testing individually, Tim McReadie drove his No 21A Chevy at 180.032 mph. At that point, D.J. was struggling at 170.684 mph.

But in the afternoon, the drivers were regrouped for drafting. Brad Coleman, now driving Ford no 27B was the fastest at 184.082 mph. Kennington was 40th at 174.710 mph with a Chevy.
