The Blue Oval is shaking things up in Chicago today with the announcement that three of their models will get a name change.

The Taurus is back: Ford's Five Hundred sedan will be renamed the Taurus for 2008. Since the Taurus was a bestseller for several years, the company hopes that the public will embrace the name change, and will take a second look at the vehicle.

Here's a more surprising move: the Freestyle crossover will be renamed the Taurus X, as it will also get exterior and interior improvements, as well as a 260-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 engine.

Finally, the Mercury counterpart of the Five Hundred, which is not sold in Canada, will lose its Montego badge in favor of the Sable, which was the division's best-selling vehicle for a number of years.
