In the wake of Takata's airbag inflator problem, Honda has announced the list of affected models that will be recalled in Canada.
A worldwide recall has not been ruled out by the Japanese manufacturer.
Initially, Takata only recalled vehicles in humid regions because that's where the airbag inflators are supposedly defective. However, numerous automakers and the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) are requesting a larger-scale recall campaign.
Here is a summary of affected Canadian models (certain specific vehicles only):
- 2001-2007 Honda Accord with 4-cylinder engines
- 2001-2002 Honda Accord with V6 engines
- 2001-2005 Honda Civic
- 2002-2006 Honda CR-V
- 2003-2010 Honda Element
- 2002-2004 Honda Odyssey
