Hyundai has announced Canadian pricing for the very first sedans to be produced under its new Genesis luxury-car banner. The 2017 G90 will retail starting at $84,000, while those interested in the G80 will be looking at a base price tag of $54,000. These prices include delivery and destination fees and a warranty that includes regular maintenance for 5 years/100,000 km. Owners will also benefit from up to 10 updates of the GPS navigation map, satellite radio and the exclusive Genesis Home-to-Home concierge service (for the G90).
The latter represents a service unique in Canada, under which potential owners can request a road test and complete the buying process at home or at work. The service continues during ownership; when the owner wants maintenance service performed, the vehicle can be picked up and delivered to and from home or work, without the owner having to come to the dealership. This service will be implemented as of this coming November 21st, and will be the initial selling platform for the Genesis models. In the coming months sales points will be established at selected boutiques and through a network of distributors.
The Genesis G90 will be available with either a 3.3L V6 GDI twin-turbo engine offering 365 HP, or a 5.0L, 420 HP V8. Among the other exciting features available as options, autonomous braking with pedestrian detection, highly adjustable front and rear ventilated and heated seats, and adaptive HID headlights that adjust when cornering.
Buyers of the G80 will be able to choose between a 3.8L, 311 HP V6 GDI twin-turbo and the more-powerful 5.0L V8 version able to produce 420 HP. Options include a number of safety features and systems, LED anti-fog headlights, heated seats and more.
