As for that sensor system that turns off the passenger airbag if there is a child seat there, GM engineers say that will take longer than expected because of the complexity of getting a system that is virtually foolproof.
Such a seat might be available later this year on the 2001 Seville and the system would, of course, work its way into other GM cars after that.
