Davide Valsecchi and rookie Christian Vietoris won first rounds of the 2009-2010 GP2 Asia championship, this week-end in Abu Dhabi.

Dominant since the beginning of the opening round of the third GP2 Asia Series in Abu Dhabi, Davide Valsecchi took an impressive first victory for iSport International on Saturday in the feature race at Yas Marinal Circuit.

Losing the lead twice, the Italian fought back to reclaim it and managed a 5.4 second gap at the chequered flag to countryman Luca Filippi.

German rookie Christian Vietoris led from the start to the chequered flag in sprint race at Yas Marina Circuit after flying off perfectly from third on the grid. Yesterday’s race winner Davide Valsecchi charged from eighth to second.
