GP2: Pastor Maldonado and Sergio Perez win at Silverstone

Pastor Maldonado pulls away in front of provisional GP2 classification after his win in race 1 at Silverstone. Sergio Perez clinched victory in race 2.

Jules Bianchi was the fastest driver after qualifying, but the young frenchman was overtaken by Pastor Maldonado, who started from outside row 1, at the start of the first round. The venezuelian driver kept the lead until checkered flag, and won 10 seconds ahead of Bianchi, and almost 20 ahead of Dani Clos.

The second round was won by Sergio Perez. The Mexican started from 4th position on the grid, and made his way through the field, until he overtook poleman Oliver Turvey for the lead.

Sergio Perez claimed victory ahead of Turvey and a very consistent Dani Clos, while Pastor Maldonado secured 4th place.

Pastor Maldonado leads now with 19 points over Dani Clos.
