Canadian driver Daniel Morad won second of two GP3 rounds presented at Silverstone circuit.
Morad, from Toronto, secured 7th position in race 1 on Saturday, which gave him the opportunity to start from P2 for second leg on Sunday, thanks to the reverse grid regulation. After he took advantage over Mirko Bortollotti who started from pole position, Morad was able to stay in front until the checkered flag. He took his first GP3 win, and moved up to 6th in provisional ranking.
Race 1 was dominated by Esteban Gutierrez. The young Mexican driver, who dominates the championship, pulls away in first position of provisional classification.
Meanwhile, that was a tough week-end for Robert Wickens, the other canadian driver involved in GP3 series. Wickens suffered a engine issue during free practices, and could not do better than 18th best performance in qualifying.
But Wickens, Morad team mate in team Status GP, made a great catch-up in race 1, until 9th position at the finish line. He then secured 6th place in race 2.
Championship leader after the first races of the season, Wickens now stands in 5th position in provisional classification.
