Five days after being forced to retire in the first lap of the race, Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas renewed with victory at the Six Hours of the Glen.

Pruett led the last 30 laps of the race to win 1.623 seconds ahead of rival Max Angelelli. It was a fourth (record) win at this event for Pruett.

"Getting my little piece of history here is an honor. It was a little scary today when the rain started coming down early in the race on part of the course - that always adds some extra drama," he said.

Pruett and Rojas thus extend their lead in the championship to 18 points (190-172) over Ryan Dalziel who finished seventh Saturday.

Team No. 99 composed of Jon Fogarty, Alex Gurney and Jimmie Johnson, led 179 laps only to finish sixth. A spun in Turn 7 with 15 minutes to go in the race cost the victory.

In GT class, Andy Lally, Spencer Pumpelly and Bob Doyle managed to begin dead last and win the race at The Glen.

They finished ahead of Sylvain Tremblay and rookie Jonathan Bomarito. Leh Keen and James Gue completed the podium.

The only incident of the race involved Michael Valiente’s car that burst into flames once the driver made it out at pitroad entrance.

Next race will take place in Ohio on June 19th.
