Five-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson announced, one week after winning his fifth consecutive title that he will be contesting the Grand-Am Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona in 2010.
Johnson will be driving the No. 99 GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing Riley Chevrolet alongside Alex Gurney and Jon Fogarty on January 29-30, 2011.
It will be the Johnson’s fourth try at winning this prestigious endurance event. He finished second overall in 2008, 21st in 2009 and 8th in the Daytona Prototype category last January.
