The season opener Easter Cups races were held in Nogaro this past weekend with the participation of many of the best road racers from France.
Several categories were in action during this round of the GT Tour series, including the GT with prestigious sports cars such as the Porsche 997 GT3-R, Audi R8 LMS, Mercedes-AMG SLS, Ferrari 458, Lamborghini Gallardo and Aston Martin DBR S9.
GT
Race 1: Eric Debard clinched pole position by just 0.011 second and remained in first place in Race 1 in his Mercedes AMG SLS. He was chased by David Hallyday in the Audi R8 LMS of Team Audi France and Patrick Bornhauser in a Larbre Compétition Porsche. Hallyday did his very best to move into first place but was unable to succeed.
Race 2: Olivier Pla dominated the first part of the race in his Ferrari. But then the Safety Car took to the track, forcing everyone to do their pit stops under the yellows and then rain came with just five minutes to run! The final laps of the race were completely mad with the cars slipping and sliding all over the place. At the chequered, the Almeras Porsche/Pro-GT of Anthony Beltoise and Laurent Pasquali arrived in first ahead of the Audi R8 of Hallyday/Ortelli that powered ahead of the Mercedes SLS of Tonelli/Derlot on the ultimate lap.
