Honda announced the recall of 1.3 million 2007-2008 Fit cars around the world, because of a potential problem that could affect the vehicle's headlights.

Wiring harness connectors for the low-beam circuit of those automobiles could become worn out prematurely, causing overheating that would result in a loss of functionality of the lights. As we are publishing this news, no incidents linked to this problem were reported, according to the Japanese giant.

However, the recall does not apply to Canadian-spec vehicles, as the Fit on our market uses Daytime Running Lights (DRL) that is required on all vehicles sold in the country. A different low beam circuit design doesn’t deteriorate like the wiring affected by this recall.
