Honda will voluntarily recall 2,908 model-year 2011 Odyssey vehicles in Canada to replace the front windshield wiper linkage rod. After extended parking in freezing temperatures combined with snow or ice, the front windshield wipers may become frozen to the windshield.

If the front wipers are activated while frozen, the wiper linkage rod can be damaged, which may prevent normal operation of the front wipers. No crashes or injuries have been reported related to this defect.

Honda is announcing this recall to encourage all owners of affected vehicles to take their vehicles to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification of this recall from Honda. Notification to customers will begin by mid-April 2011. Owners of these vehicles can determine if their vehicle requires repair by contacting their Honda dealer or by calling toll free to 1-888-946-6329.
