On November 3rd, Blood Type Racing will present a heavily modified Hyundai Veloster Turbo R-Spec producing more than 500 horsepower at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The crowd won’t believe what they’re seeing.
This unique Veloster looks super-aggressive and wicked thanks to a “Carbon Black” paint job, accented with a red racing stripe running from the front splitter up onto the hood. A carbon fibre wide-body kit gives the car a more muscular stance. Red accents on the custom SSR three-piece wheels, along with red projector “demon eye” headlamps, add a final demonic touch to the exterior.
Under the hood, the 1.6L 4-cylinder Gamma engine received new cylinder sleeves, a high-boost turbocharger from Garrett, and custom connecting rods and pistons. With a retuned OEM ECU working in tandem with the strengthened engine internals, power output is now more than 500 horsepower.
Inside the Hyundai Veloster Turbo R-Spec, the cabin was stripped down and given the full, race-spec treatment with the addition of a four-point roll cage, Sabelt bucket seats, harnesses and steering wheel, along with audio upgrades from Rockford Fosgate and Tanabe OLED Revel gauges.
By the way, both the BTR Veloster Turbo and the 800-horsepower Genesis Coupe from SEMA 2014 are featured in the Racing Rivals video game, available now for download on IOS and Android devices.
