It's more efficient than the 200-hp Buick Allure 3.8L V6, 250-hp Chrysler 300 3.5L V6, 200-hp Ford Five Hundred 3.0L V6, 194-hp Hyundai XG 350 3.5L V6, 200-hp Kia Amanti 3.5L V6, and 265-hp Nissan Maxima 3.5L V6. More power and better fuel economy than its competitors is a solid one-two punch from Avalon.

But delivering efficiencies in fuel consumptions is nothing new for Toyota, which was once again honoured by Natural Resources Canada with multiple EnerGuide awards for its Canada exclusive Echo Hatchback, Canadian-built Matrix and class-leading Prius Hybrid.

gratifying to be recognized for our efforts," added Beatty.

Canadians purchased more than 1,900 redesigned, mid-sized 2004 Prius models last year.

"To put that in perspective," continued Beatty, "that's more vehicles than we sold in all four years that we offered the first generation Prius in Canada, and we're building them as fast as we can to meet the demand."
