ZR1 packs 638 horsepower!
The dyno sheets are in, and GM engineers have exceeded their 100 horsepower-per-liter goal for the supercharged LS9 engine that will power the new Corvette ZR1. SAE certification is complete, and output is now officially rated at a simply ridiculous 638 horsepower, backed by 604 lb.-ft of torque. These numbers make the 6.2 litre LS9 the most powerful production engine ever made by GM, and will enable the ZR1 to achieve a terminal velocity of over 200 miles per hour.
