Sam Schmidt Motorsports' Esteban Guerrieri, who started from the rear of the pack because of an engine change, earned victory at the Indy Lights' Freedom 100 presented at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Near the end of the race, it was Andretti Autosport's Carlos Munoz who was in the lead but a smooth driving Guerrieri took over. A yellow killed Munoz’s chance to reply.

Guerrieri' win moves the Argentinian to the top of the points table in the IndyCar feeder series.

Guerrieri's team-mate Tristan Vautier was another driver who gained places thru the race. The Frenchman finally crossed the line in third.

An early incident on lap four left Oliver Webb, Canadian David Ostella, Emerson Newton-John and Brandon Wagner out of the race.
